Every street in 18 European countries gets a score from 0 to 100: how easy and how pleasant it is to walk there.
A high score means that shops, schools, parks and public transport are a short walk away, on streets that are good to walk on.
Search any address, or click any place on the map, to see its score and the reasons for it.
The countries: Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Andorra, Liechtenstein, the UK and Ireland.
The score has two parts.
| Reach | 60% | Minutes on foot to eight daily needs |
|---|---|---|
| Street quality | 40% | How pleasant the streets are to walk on |
Figure 1. Plaça d’Espanya, Barcelona. The map gives one score to each six-sided cell that a street crosses. Deeper blue: easier to walk than the cells around it. The small numbers are real scores. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
